eSession w/Liza & Lou

Saturday, July 19th, 2008

I’m sorry for all the bug bites!!!

It’s true, I lured this couple out into the middle of nowhere so we could get some shots with an abandoned barn … then the bugs started to bite — and plenty of them, so we ran! I think I counted 20 bites on me overall? Ouch! Well, I’ll see you two crazy kids again on your big wedding day next month! I can’t wait to document all 12+ hours!!!

For Friends and Family: Click here for Liza and Lou’s wedding website that I set up for them.

P.S.
The violinist was just pure luck! He was already sitting on the bench when we arrived at the park. Whoo hoo!!!

eSession w/Eurie & Rothana

Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008

These two have known each other for about 10 years …

So, it’s about time that they will marry this year! hehe! [I'm sure they're used to this kind of talk!]

Man, oh man, today was scorching hot — 101 degrees??? Geesh! I mean, I prayed for drier and warmer weather to come through after all those days of rain, but this is madness! Anyway, thank you, Eurie and Rothana, for being such awesome “models” for those two hours in the sun. I know, modeling for me is already hard enough as it is, then tack on heat and it all becomes unbearable. Eeks! I hope those Starbucks drinks helped a little. BTW, I really do need to get some SBUX because I tend to meet or take my clients there, whether they like coffee or not! *slurp*

P.S.
Happy birthday to Jen of JENuine Creations!

Bridals w/Trang & Duy

Sunday, April 13th, 2008

How do you shoot 50 frames in less than 30 minutes? Um … REALLY FAST!!!

Trang and her fiancé, Duy, will marry on Saturday, May 3, 2008 … So, they wanted their portraits done in order to have a large canvas to showcase on the wedding day. Luckily, today was nice and dry for good ol’ Portland, Ore. — a big break from all the April showers! Oh, and from January showers, February and March showers, too! Geesh!!!

These two are so cute — although uncomfortable in front of the camera — I could totally see the love Duy has for Trang. He made her smile when she surely needed him. [I got some cute shots of them!] For some of their portraits, I went for a more vintage process because of what surrounded us at the park. And, I’m totally, totally digging them.

eSession w/Arlene & Derek (Seattle, Wash.)

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

Seattle, Wash. — After a long eight years of courtship and a surprise sweet proposal on New Year’s Eve 2006, via a storybook with images of the ring in its box, Arlene and Derek will marry this May. Unfortunately, I’ll be in Chicago for a workshop and missing out on the wedding day. So, we got together to shoot their engagement instead! YAY!!!

The weather started out just warm and dry for us, no rain! Yay!!! Yet while we were at Pike Place Market it started to shower and come down hard; but, that was okay because we were ready for a break from shooting anyway … EAT?! After the rain, the couple changed into their evening attire and we headed out to snap shots near the Space Needle.

Arlene and Derek are so cool and totally down for whatever; for one of our night shots, it was taken when we all snuck down a gated stairway because we liked the tunnel so much, a loud voice boomed over the intercom at us, “Please do not go down the stairway.” Oops! But, check out that last shot: We found a lively artist playing his acoustic guitar on the street and, to our surprise, he played Elvis Presley’s “Only Fools Rush In” just for them!!!

Note: Yes, I do have more images of the couple facing the camera. haha!

eSession w/Nadine & Mohsen

Sunday, January 27th, 2008

She knew the moment she met him that she would marry him.

On Saturday, March 29, 2008, Nadine will marry her “love at first sight” fiancé, Mohsen. But, this won’t be just any wedding … They will marry in Cairo, Egypt! How cool is that??? I was so excited to hear their plans for this destination wedding, especially about Egypt; I just love the whole pyramid and beauty of this country. When I get to finally travel the world, Egypt will be one of my many stops, for sure. One day, I know it’ll finally happen for me.

So, as you can just imagine, I about fainted when they asked me to take a week off and join them in Cairo, Egypt — as their destination wedding photographer! OMG. WHAT!!! Wait. Um, did I just die, or am I only dreaming??? If so, then DON’T wake me!!! I just want to absorb this AWESOME feeling!!!

It took every ounce of strength in my body to refrain from screaming “YES!” for fear of scaring the beautiful couple. I remained cool and collective on the outside, but on the inside my entire body just wanted to do somersaults and all sorts of moves that I don’t even know! So, a hundred times, a thousand times, a million times — YES, YES, YES!!! Um, did I say “yes”? YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Originally, they wanted an 8×10 photo framed for the guestbook table, but then decided to go with my idea to embed 25+ of their engagement pictures in a storybook that seconds as a guest “sign-in” book. This way guests can browse through the storybook and sign their name/message for the couple. Check out the sample slideshow!
