Meet the man behind the mic … We’re on the air with Z100’s Felix!

In case you hadn’t heard, Felix is no longer with Jammin’ (formerly 95.5 FM); he’s now with Z100 (100.3 FM). So, in the effort to make sure you tune in when he’s on the air, 8PM-Midnight, he’s taking the Z100 sign wherever he goes. Yes, he takes his job very seriously.

P.S. Danity Kane was just in the Cricket Studio; I saw their artwork that they scribbled during the live video taping. I wonder if this is what they do when P.Diddy talks at the end of every song he produces? *snooze* [Right, Felix?]

Be on the lookout for this album playing in da club!

I got to sample a few tracks on this artist’s up and coming album … Yeah, I can already hear her beats bumping in “da club” and, surely, I’ll be dancing to it! Her name is Diana, but her stage name is yet to be released. Yes, I know what it is, but I’m sworn to total secrecy! [No, not really. hehe!] She’s first and foremost a songwriter and she keeps many journals and a special pen close by when she’s inspired to write — usually when she’s driving in traffic! haha.

DJ TJ is just that, a deejay; but, he’s more than that when he’s not spinning tracks in the clubs. When he’s at home, he’s actually downstairs in his studio recording beats to Diana’s lyrics. And, from what I heard already I think these two got a great thing coming. Because I got to photograph them at work and play I’m kind of part of this project, too, so I’m kind of a big deal now. haha. Yay! [I can't wait to work on the promo photos!]

BTW, anyone who is down with SPAM and the 80s is all right with me!

Shots w/Denise

Sunday, March 30th, 2008

No, Randy Jackson, I have the best crew ever! Hands down.

That’s right, I have the funniest, creative, and most caring folks on my crew. We have so much fun that we barely get anything done. But, we do manage to always eat?! haha! Sometimes, I have to put my camera down to hold myself from convulsions of laughter. Hm, that would explain all those blurry images in the cutting room. I just can’t express how much I love these guys! This project wouldn’t have happened without each and every one of them.

Today documents the official date of our first project together, 03/30/08. And, today was just an insane mixture of cold, rain, sun, clouds, and hail. HAIL!!! Huh??? (Dude, I still can’t feel my toes.) But, my entire crew braved the cold as if we were in Hawai’i’ or something. You guys rock!!! Extra kudos to Denise for being such a soldier! She never once whined about anything, not even when her entire body was covered in goosebumps because it was so frickin’ cold. Denise is not known to keep a serious face when in front of the camera, but she did all as I asked. However, she couldn’t hold it in all day. D’oh!!! [BTW, Denise styled her own hair — I just love the high bangs!]

Shots w/Kristina

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

Kristina Rodriguez is an aspiring actress. She’s been on set in such movies as “Untraceable” with Diane Lane and “10 Things I Hate About You” with the late Heath Ledger. And, she was in an Everclear music video! We got together to update her headshots, and with the weather being so nice for once we decided to take some fun portraits, too.

We drove around the vicinity of her neighborhood to find cool spots; we found abandoned and unfinished buildings that were not completely fenced in so we treaded on the property — hey, there wasn’t a “No Trespassing” sign that we could see! haha. That first image is from one of the unfinished buildings we found, and the entire time we were hoping not to see anyone (or anything) pop out from that window. Eeks! Too many horror flicks on the brain? Maybe. [One of the spots we found made us think of the movie "Wrong Turn." Aahhh!]

Kristina has a dress that she adores, however, her friends say it makes her look more Mexican because of the polka dots. Um, she’s 100% Mexican so I’m not sure how much more “Mexican” she can look? Well, it was a good excuse for us to use that as one of our themes; we multi-tasked a photo opp while fueling the car and got plenty of attention from passers-by. haha! (Got gas?) BTW, this girl has such AMAZING green and hazel eyes! Check ‘em out!

Shots w/Ashley & Grant

Saturday, October 13th, 2007

Their parents work together and live in the same neighborhood. So, I guess you can say that these two great kids, Ashley and Grant, grew up together … Children are very chameleon-like, they change and, oh, so very quickly! One minute they’ll give you ‘em “grownup” looks, all serious all business; but, then the next they’re just as goofy as all kids should be. Ah, such is life! (”I don’t want to grow up … I’m a Toys ‘R’ Us kid!”) haha.

Hey, kids, thank you for a fun session and good luck! You two were such troopers to brave the chilly morning dew. Y’all are ROCKSTARS in my book!!!
